SE z610i - I'm off

I'm currently on the bus heading towards Muadzam Shah where the tournament is going to be held. I'm glad to say that I've managed to overcome the stomach virus and I'm starting to slowly regain my energy. Let's hope that it gets fully recovered or near full by the time my first match tomorrow starts.

By the way, the last time I went there, I did not get any reception on my phone. I really hope that this isn't the case this time around, or it'll be very troublesome having to borrow a friend's phone everytime I need to make a call or send a text message. Not to mention I wouldn't be able to post any updates whilst I'm there.

Down and out?

There's 2 days left before the college's tennis tournament starts. It was just my luck that I've managed to contract a stomach virus of some sorts, sapping at least 80% of my energy and rendering me very weak. There's still a full day of recovery tomorrow, but unless a miracle happens, I'll never get back to full health in time.

The weekend review

This is kinda like SportsCenter, where they give the weekend updates on Monday nights. Not much going on around the weekends though. I managed to stub my pinky toe and now I can't walk properly. Good thing it's recovering and does not effect tennis sessions that much. I also found out the my limit when it comes to tennis sessions and rest (3 days in a row is the maximum I can go)

There was also the Carling Cup final between Chelsea and Spurs. That was a rather entertaining game, with the heavy underdogs coming out triumphant. I know at least 3 friends who are loyal fans of Spurs, and they must've been smiling from ear to ear over the outcome of the match. Congratulations to them, although I gotta ask this question: what would've happened if The Special One was still in charge? In my opinion, they'd have sealed the deal and won it.

Tennis sessions continues, with some of the big names in the UNITEN tennis scene joining in practice. The tourney will be held this upcoming weekend, so there's only 3 or 4 days of training left. It's GO time, and whoever can't keep up will be left behind.

Night train II

This is a continuation of yesterday's post, sorta. It will chronicle my experience on the said train.

When the train finally came, I was stuck in the worse position imaginable: an equal distance between one door to the next door nearest to me. being tired and not wanting to go with the mob, I sought out the train carriage at the end, which had less people "queuing" up to enter. I ended up just inside the doors when it closed, and it was really crowded.

When you spend time having to work to stand up properly, it doesn't give you much time to think of doing anything else. I had my DS in my pocket, but there was no way I could manage to sneak some gaming time on the train. People around me were doing their own stuff, and I noticed that a lot of them had earphones connected to their mobile phones.I wished I had brought my earphones too.

On the topic of listening to music on your phones, why do some people turn up the volume way too high. There was this one guy who had his music so loud that I could hear it clearly, even though I was a good few meters away from him. Don't these people fear being deaf? His music was even louder than the sound of the train running along its tracks.

All in all, the journey on the train wasn't really comfortable, and I was relieved when I finally reached my destination. Note to self: avoid night trains, unless I get on at a less crowded station.

SE z610i - Night train

I am suddenly reminded of why I have taking the train at night. There's just so many people. By the time that I've taken that picture and typed this out, the number of humans have easily doubled.

But what else can I do? The only car that I have at my disposal is a Mitsubishi Pajero V6, which eats up fuel like a person started for days. Additionally, there's also the tolls to deal with, so logically, this is a better choice.

Another thing that I dislike is the wait time. How I miss my Kancil.

Invitation

Yesterday, I received a wedding invitation from one of my friends from college. She was one of the first ladies I had talked to in college, and we became good friends. I learnt a lot from her, and in return, I taught her how to improve her English.

I kinda drifted apart from everyone in college, due to personal reasons, so I haven't seen her in months. In fact, if I do decide to attend her wedding, it'll be 4-5 months since I last saw her.

Here's to a happy and blissful life, my friend.

Oh crepe

What's with the title? I had it for dinner today, mushroom chicken to be exact. It also has something to do with some bad news that I received from my friend when he called me earlier this evening.

What's the bad news? His hard disk had died. About 5 years ago, we both bought the same 250GB hard disk. It was at a time when that much space meant a lot, so we became one of the few people who had over 200GB of space. But that became used up really quickly, holding stuff like TV series, movies, games. Even the 1TB of space that I have on my PC + portable HDD combined is running out.

So what does this news mean for my own 250GB HDD? Well, it should mean that I have to make a backup of that HDD soon, for fear that it might crash anytime soon too. But I'm too lazy to do backup. 250GB is a lot to backup. I just hope that my good track record of never having a HDD die out on me will keep on continuing.

A minor setback

Whilst playing tennis yesterday, I managed to injure my left knee trying to return a wicked serve. In order to rehabilitate the knee, I was forced to not move around much. In summary, all I did today was:

- nurse my knee back to health, successfully
- and since I couldn't walk around much, I spent most of the playing a mumorpuger

That's basically it. I could write so much more, but anything I have to say right now would have to be in direct relation with the game. I'll spare the details and jsut say that it was the first time an injury made the ingredients of a fun day.

Who you calling a dummy?

My SE z610i is not a dummy!
There's this thing that has been bugging me on my Blogger dashboard. Under the Mobile Devices column, it lists out that my precious phone is known only as Dummy. I tried to look around to see if there was a way to rename it to something better, but that lead to a dead end.

Speaking of dummies, no matter where you go in life, you're always going to have to end up dealing with one at least once. I've been known to slip up on occasions too, so I know not everyone is perfect. But what ticks me off is when they keep on pestering you till the point they become very annoying.

The mumorpger I'm playing has its share of dummies. There was this one guy who kept on asking me to have a duel with him, even though I had already told him I was doing a quest. I just felt like reaching into the screen and choking the guy that is controlling that character. On the flipside, there are many helpful and polite individuals playing too, and they've made this game a joy to play so far. No bad apple is going to ruin my fun.

I'm off to do more flying. Wheee...

Flying with style

I was thrilled to see that the "Blog this" experiment worked yesterday. Now I don't have to be in front of the PC to write something. I've heard that there is a way to write an email via gmail that gets processed into an entry, so I'll look into that possibility in the future too, as I sometimes access my gmail account through my phone.

Since there is going to be two types of posts on this blog, they have to be distinguishable. So from now on, any posts that is written on my phone will start with "SE z610i - [title]". Example: SE z610i - My new phone!

Moving along, I spent most of the day idling and reading stuff. Those activities were "supplemented" by levelling up in an MMORPG (or mumorpuger from now on, thanks Yahtzee!) called Fly For Fun, or FlyFF. The thing I like about this game that is different from other mumorpugers is that you can fly around the world, literally. I just bought myself a hoverboard and spent at least 30 minutes just flying around sightseeing. It's that fun. Now I know how Marty feels.

For those of you who are currently playing or want to try FlyFF, my in-game name is AzerZK. I can be located on Mushpie(sp?) server, Channel 4 (not sure if the channel matters). To the future Doc!

Blog feature test for my Sony Ericsson z610i

I was sitting around bored, when I noticed that my phone had this interesting feature. I could send my photos or any picture on my phone to my blog as a new post. So I said, what the heck and sent this pic of my new PC setup. All HP.

Searching for an MMORPG

I went around town today looking to grab myself a copy of Granado Espada at the local 7-Eleven. But to my disappointment, only one of the 5 outlets I went to, only one of them had the game. Even then, it had already been sold out. So I guess I'll have to make do with playing Secret of the Solstice for now.

On another unrelated note, my fingers are hurting from playing tennis. Looks like I'll have to find something to tape my fingers and protect them. My feet hurt too, since it's been such a long time since I last wore my tennis shoes. But those things are just minor setbacks. The pleasure gained from playing tennis far outweighs any discomforts encountered along the way.

I'm also looking forward to tonight's UEFA match between Aberdeen and my favourite team Bayern Munchen. I hope they can win in Scotland so that it will be much easier at home in the return leg. I may need some sleep first though, as I'm feeling the effect of today's training session. Long live FCB!

Change of style

I haven't played tennis in quite a bit, so I thought to myself, hey, this could be a good time to change the style in which I played. I used to play a conservative game, hitting things from the baseline, which didn't amount to anything too exciting.

The new style I'm trying to incorporate into my game sees me volleying the ball a lot more. The serve and volley is an old style, and not a lot of players use this playing technique anymore nowadays.

After one session trying to work out the kinks to this new way of playing, I can safely say this: it's tiring, but more satisfying. Especially when I succeeded in hitting more crisp winners than before. I look forward to trying to develop this into a deadly weapon, hopefully.

My return

I have decided to give this whole thing another run. Hopefully I really mean it this time.

A lot has been happening lately, but here's what people need to know:

- Stomach virus is not fun;
- Business might be;
- Movies are definitely fun
